In 1996, the county was named “China's Mango Hometown” by the Ministry of Agriculture, and in 2006, it was rated as the “Guangxi Non-polluted Agricultural Products (Mango) Production Demonstration Base County.” Currently, the area dedicated to Tian Dong Fragrant Mango cultivation reaches over 130,000 mu, mainly including varieties such as Tainong No. 1, Guangre No. 7, and Jinhuang Mango, with an annual output of more than 30,000 tons and a value of 120 million yuan. The products are sold across the country and exported to countries like Canada and the UK. The Tian Dong Fragrant Mango has become a significant pillar of local agriculture, with farmers' incomes increasing year by year.

There are 37 varieties of mangoes, including Guangqi Mango, Purple Flower Mango, Red Elephant Tooth, Tainong, Jinhuang Mango, and Kate Mango. Starting from 1985, Tian Dong County began vigorously developing mango cultivation, establishing its status as a mango commodity production base along the Youjiang River Valley. It focused on building a mango commodity base as a key industry to revitalize the rural economy of Tian Dong and accelerate poverty alleviation for the old revolutionary base area residents. From this point on, the mango cultivation in Tian Dong began to develop on a large scale and in contiguous areas, gradually forming a nationally renowned mango production area.
