Basic Introduction to Nine Immortals Peach
A specialty of Wengyuan County, named after Jiuxian Village, Jiangwei Town, known as the “Home of China's Nine Immortals Peaches.” Cultivation began during the Ming Dynasty's Jiajing period and has a history of nearly five hundred years. The Nine Immortals Peach belongs to the Southern hard-fleshed peach variety and is characterized by its large size, small stone, thick flesh, easily separable flesh from the stone, and high sugar content.
Nutritional Value

Product Characteristics
The fruit appears pinkish-red, with a full-bodied, crisp texture that melts in the mouth, and is sweet. The average single fruit weighs over 200 grams. The fruit is oblong-shaped, with a pointed, slightly curved apex. The flesh is crunchy and has a unique flavor. The main planting areas are Longxian, Jiangwei, and Bazi.
Awards and Honors
Wengyuan is known as the “Home of China's Nine Immortals Peaches.” In 1985, the Jiuxian peaches of the Wengjiang region were rated as a superior and rare fruit variety in Guangdong Province. In 2007, they passed the certification for being free from harmful substances, earning the reputation of “Peach of the Immortals” and “Delicious Fruit of the Lingnan Region.”
How to Enjoy Nine Immortals Peaches
Pickled Peaches
Ingredients
600 grams of peaches, 2 tablespoons of salt, 3 tablespoons of white granulated sugar, a small amount of licorice powder
Instructions
1. After washing the peaches, drain them thoroughly and place them in a clean bowl.
2. Add the salt and continuously knead the peaches for about five minutes until they start to release water, and the fine hairs on their surface will gradually come off.
3. Rinse the peaches briefly in cold water and clean them, then remove and drain them.
4. Mix the white granulated sugar and licorice powder into the peaches from step 3, allowing them to marinate. Place them in the refrigerator for about 2 hours until they are well-flavored, then serve.
