Basic Introduction to Longan Pomelo

The parent stock of Longan Pomelo originates from two 53--old pomelo trees behind the of Tang Yanwen, a villager in Quance Village, Longan Township, Guang'an District, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province. It was selected and cultivated by the Guang'an Economic Crops Technology Extension Station of Guang'an District. It is an extremely distinctive citrus specialty product. In 2008, Longan Pomelo was approved as a national geographic indication protected product, making it one of a few citrus products with national geographic indication protection.

Nutritional Value

1. The pomelo contains natural potassium, an essential trace element for people with high blood pressure, and almost no , making it one of the best therapeutic fruits for patients with cardiovascular diseases and kidney (if renal insufficiency is accompanied by hyperkalemia, consumption should be strictly prohibited);

Product Characteristics

Tasting and Serving Methods for Longan Pomelo

Pomelo Meat Stewed Chicken

1 pomelo (preferably one that has overwintered), 1 rooster (about 500 grams). First, slaughter the chicken and clean it as usual; then remove the meat from the pomelo and place it inside the chicken. Add an appropriate amount of and steam over water until cooked. Drink the broth and eat the chicken. Once a week for three servings. This dish has the effects of warming the middle to benefit qi and the lungs, descending qi, eliminating phlegm, and stopping coughing. It is suitable for symptoms such as chronic cough and intermittent asthma.

Pomelo Juice Paste

5-8 pomelos, 500 milliliters of honey, 100 grams of rock sugar, 10 milliliters of ginger juice. Remove the skin and seeds from the pomelos and extract the juice. Boil gently until thickened, then add honey, rock sugar, and ginger juice, and simmer into a paste. After cooling, store in a bottle for later use. Take 1 tablespoon at a time, mixed with boiling water, twice daily. This paste has the effects of warming the middle to regulate qi, harmonizing the stomach, and stopping vomiting. It is suitable for symptoms such as nausea and vomiting during pregnancy and discomfort in the stomach area.
