Basic Introduction to Laojun Mei Tea
Laojun Mei Tea is a protected geographical indication product. Hong'an is a mountainous county, located in the golden latitude belt for tea cultivation in China, with a long history of tea planting and a profound tea culture. In recent years, under the caring guidance of higher-level leaders and the correct leadership of the County Party Committee and County Government, the tea industry in Hong'an has thrived. Laojun Mei Tea has been designated by the state as a key brand in the The Revitalization and Development Plan for the Dabie Mountains Revolutionary Base Area. It has also been recognized as a national green economy and forest-under planting demonstration base, winning awards in provincial and national competitions multiple times. The history of Laojun Mei Tea is long and rich. In Chapter 41 of A Dream of Red Mansions, Grandma Jia said, “I don't drink Lu'an tea, I want to drink Laojun Mei.” Following this mention, Laojun Mei Tea was once lost but has now been revived by renowned tea experts who have adhered to traditional techniques.
The unique and beautiful appearance of Laojun Mei Tea, its excellent color, aroma, and taste, and its shape resembling an eyebrow, with tightly twisted strands, make it stand out. Its liquor is a golden yellow, clear and bright. The aroma of Laojun Mei Tea is pure and rich, while its flavor is full-bodied, sweet, and refreshing. The infused leaves are uniformly an antique copper color, making it highly favored by consumers and considered a rare treasure among teas.
