Basic Introduction to Luboc Green Tea
The “Luboc” series of green teas are produced in Luboc, Gonglang Town, Nanjian County. Here, the climate is warm and humid, the soil is fertile, with ample sunlight and abundant water sources, and it's often shrouded in mist and clouds throughout the year. The natural environment is beautiful, and the “Luboc” series of green teas are renowned at home and abroad for their superior quality. “Luboc” green tea is made from the tender buds of Yunnan large-leaf tea plants, processed with great care. The Nanjian Yi Autonomous County Luboc Tea Farm is located near the Tropic of Cancer, in the area where the Wuliang and Ailao mountains extend, on the banks of the Luboc River, a tributary of the Lancangjiang. It is 60 kilometers away from the county seat of Nanjian and falls under the jurisdiction of Gonglang Town, Nanjian County. At an altitude of 1,700 to 1,800 meters, the climate is mild, humid, and often foggy, with an annual average rainfall of 1,000 to 1,300 millimeters, nearly 2,500 hours of annual sunshine, and an annual accumulated temperature of about 7,000°C. The soil is brown and acidic, rich in organic matter, fertile, and surrounded by forests, with well-preserved vegetation. The air is fresh, and the ecological environment is excellent. There are no industrial or mining enterprises within a ten-kilometer radius around the tea garden, and there is no environmental pollution. The tea plants are all of the high-quality group varieties of Yunnan large-leaf species.
Nutritional Value
Green tea helps delay aging, as tea polyphenols have strong antioxidant properties and physiological activity, serving as scavengers of free radicals harmful to the human body. Studies have shown that 1 milligram of tea polyphenols can eliminate the same amount of excess free radicals as 9 micrograms of superoxide dismutase, significantly higher than other similar substances. Tea polyphenols can block lipid peroxidation reactions and remove active enzymes. According to the experimental results of Dr. Akira Okuda of Japan, the anti-aging effects of tea polyphenols are 18 times stronger than those of vitamin E. Green tea helps inhibit cardiovascular diseases, as tea polyphenols play a crucial role in human fat metabolism. High levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the body can lead to the deposition of fats on the inner walls of blood vessels, the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells, and the formation of atherosclerotic plaques, among other cardiovascular diseases. Green tea contains potent antioxidants and vitamin C, which not only can eliminate free radicals in the body but also secrete hormones that counteract stress. Green tea also contains a small amount of caffeine, which can stimulate the central nervous system and invigorate the spirit. For this reason, we recommend drinking green tea in the morning to avoid affecting sleep.

Tasting and Preparation Methods for Luboc Green Tea
Brewing Tips
There are two methods to brew green tea: one is the top-down method, suitable for high-grade premium green teas with tightly bound shapes. First, pour hot water at 75-85 degrees Celsius into the cup. The other is the bottom-up method, where you place the tea leaves in the cup before pouring hot water at around 85 degrees Celsius, suitable for regular green teas.
Proper brewing of green tea improves the taste and makes it healthier to drink. There are certain rules to follow, especially concerning water temperature.
General instructions and precautions for brewing green tea:
When brewing green tea, control the water temperature to around 80°C to 90°C. If brewing green tea powder, use lukewarm water at 40°C to 60°C. The ratio is 2 grams of green tea powder to 450 milliliters of boiled water.
The first infusion of tea should not be consumed; after adding hot water, shake the cup slightly and then discard the liquid.
Green tea powder should not be brewed too strongly, as it can affect the secretion of gastric juices; it is best not to drink it on an empty stomach.
