Method 1 for Cabbage Stewed Meat
Ingredients Preparation
Chinese cabbage, pork belly, cooking oil, salt, scallions, ginger, chili peppers, soy sauce, monosodium glutamate, star anise, Sichuan pepper.
Steps
1. Wash and cut the pork belly into chunks. Shred the cabbage. Slice the chili peppers. Finely chop the scallions and ginger.
2. Heat oil in a pan, add star anise and Sichuan pepper to stir-fry until fragrant. Add scallion, ginger, and dried chili peppers, continue to stir-fry.
3. After the aroma develops, add the pork belly and stir-fry. Then add a little soy sauce.
4. After stir-frying for a moment, add water to the pork.
5. Once the meat is cooked and tender, add the cabbage. Cover the pot and cook for about 10 minutes. Then season with salt and monosodium glutamate before serving.
Method 2 for Cabbage Stewed Meat
Ingredients Preparation
Chinese cabbage, pork belly, scallions, salt, tofu, oil, star anise, dried chili peppers, ginger, bay leaves.
Steps
1. Freeze the tofu, then thaw and cut into cubes. Wash all ingredients.
2. Shred the cabbage. Cut the pork belly into chunks.
3. In a hot oiled pan, stir-fry the chili peppers, bay leaves, star anise, and ginger until fragrant. Then add the pork belly and stir-fry.
4. After a short while, add water and simmer until cooked. Continue to simmer over low heat for half an hour.
5. In another oiled pan, stir-fry scallions until fragrant. Then add the cabbage and salt, stir-fry until soft and watery.
6. Pour the stewed meat and some broth into the pan, then add the frozen tofu cubes.
7. Simmer for about 5 minutes, then season with salt before serving.
Tips
Add the cabbage stalks first, then the leaves. Do not stir after adding the tofu.
Method 3 for Cabbage Stewed Meat
Ingredients Preparation
Chinese cabbage, pork belly, glass noodles, dried shiitake mushrooms, oil, salt, scallions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce.
Steps
1. Wash all ingredients. Soak the mushrooms until they rehydrate. Chop the scallions, ginger, and garlic.
2. Slice the pork belly. Cut the cabbage into pieces. Soak the glass noodles and set aside.
3. In a hot oiled pan, stir-fry scallions, ginger, and garlic until fragrant. Then add the pork belly and stir-fry.
4. When the pork starts to release oil and turns slightly yellow, add an appropriate amount of water and the mushrooms.
5. Clean the cabbage, cut it, and place it at the bottom of a casserole pot. Then pour the pork and broth over the cabbage.
6. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Add the glass noodles and cook for a few more minutes. Garnish with scallions before serving.
